UM Veteran & Military Services

Veteran-Friendly Campus

Military-Friendly School

Gold Level Veteran Friendly School

The veterans and military members living, working, and studying at the University of Michigan are a valued and vital component of our campus community. We recognize and honor their sacrifices and life experiences as they enhance the diverse perspectives of our staff, faculty, and student body.

The Veterans and Military Services Program (VMSP), formerly known as the Student Veterans Assistance Program, or SVAP, helps students make the transition from active military duty to U-M, and from U-M to active military duty.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor is proud to serve our students who have served their country. Our campus community has taken the lead nationally in providing services and a welcoming environment to our servicemen and women. The University of Michigan believes it is not only a privilege to provide opportunities for veterans and those serving in the military to obtain the education they desire, but also an opportunity to enhance and elevate the conversation in our classrooms and living spaces. We are enormously proud to be recognized by the following organizations and publications for our work and commitment:
