Saline Mayor Supports Fisher House Michigan in Word and Deed
Ever a supporter of Military and Veterans, it is no surprise that the Mayor of Saline, Brian Marl, supports Fisher House Michigan. Fisher Houses provide military and Veterans’ families housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury. Fisher House Michigan will be built on the campus of VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and will be a home away from home for Veterans and their families, helping our Veterans access the care they have earned. Current construction plans have groundbreaking scheduled for 2019.
During his Memorial Day address this year, the Mayor challenged Salinians to love our neighbors as ourselves. True to form, Mayor Marl is leading from the front, caring for our Veteran neighbors by not only supporting Fisher House Michigan with his endorsement, but also with his checkbook. We are proud to call the Mayor a friend and are grateful that he is also a donor. Read his letter of endorsement here:
I believe in exercising brevity, therefore I’ll be very clear and succinct – Fisher House is an outstanding organization that has done tremendous work supporting veterans and their families. Due to their impressive track record, I am proud to be not only a supporter, but also a donor. I strongly believe that our state and region would benefit greatly from a Fisher House on the campus of the Ann Arbor VA Hospital. However, this goal cannot be realized without significant support from generous individuals throughout southeast Michigan.
Accordingly, I encourage my friends and neighbors to support Fisher House of Michigan in any way they are able. Let us never forget, that one of the most genuine reflections of our character is demonstrated by the way we treat and care for our service men and women, both active and retired –
Brian D. Marl
